What is Ophthalmology?

Ophthalmology is the medical specialty concerned with the anatomy, function, and diseases of the eye. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who specializes in eye and vision care -- providing the full spectrum of eye care, but mainly focused on complex and delicate eye surgery.
